Get a healthy feeding plan. Watch your weight. Create time for relaxation. A healthy lifestyle would protect you from diseases and help you live in sound health.
Here are 4 habits effective in reducing your risk of heart attack:
1. Eat Healthy
Foods are essential in the continual sustenance of human. Your diet determines your physical, mental, and psychological state. A healthy feeding plan nourishes your body and protects your heart from infections. If you want to reduce your risk of a heart attack, you need to avoid or cut down on your consumption of processed foods, salt, red meat, carbohydrates such as white rice and white bread, soda and other sugary beverages.
Rather, feed more on fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, herbs, natural spices, healthy fats and foods rich in protein such as fish, beans, and nuts.
2. Maintain a Healthy Weight
People who are obese or overweight are more susceptible to diabetes and heart attack.
If you are a member of the above category, you’ve got some work to do. You should try to burn calories to lose some weight. This will help improve your blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Thus, your risk of a heart attack is reduced.
3. Avoid Tobacco and Alcohol
Smokers have an increased risk of suffering from a premature heart attack. The smoke from the cigarette can cause complications in your arteries, heart and lungs. Putting a stop to cigarettes would do you more good.
Secondly, you need to try to put a stop to your drinking life. If you cannot stop completely, drink in moderation. Your health is much more important than the pleasure derived from smoking and drinking.
4. Stay Physically Fit and Active
What if you don’t drink, smoke, and you are neither obese nor overweight? You need to stay physically fit and active to avoid the risk of a heart attack and other heart-related diseases.
And the best way to do that is to eat healthy and do simple exercises to stay fit. It doesn’t have to be something intense or rigorous. Walking, jogging or cycling for 30 minutes daily or worse, an hour weekly would keep you safe and fit.
